Two grades, two descriptions
Do not choose by colour or by the name on an old sheet. Start with what our catalogue says about each grade.
- Nitrile rubber sheet: oil-resistant NBR rubber sheet, listed as ideal for workshops, gaskets, pads and fuel-related environments.
- Neoprene rubber sheet: a balanced rubber sheet with good weather, oil and abrasion resistance for industrial use.
The two descriptions overlap, so the choice depends on your job. Tell us the conditions and we will confirm which grade to quote.
Nitrile sheet for oil and fuel areas
Our catalogue describes nitrile as oil-resistant NBR sheet. It lists workshops, gaskets, pads and fuel-related environments.
Think about where the sheet will sit. A pad under a machine, a gasket cut from sheet and a cover on a bench all see oil in different ways. A drip now and then is not the same as a sheet that sits in oil all day.
Tell us what the sheet touches and how often. Name the oil, fuel or fluid. If you have a data sheet for the fluid, send it with your enquiry.
Neoprene sheet in our catalogue
Our catalogue describes neoprene as a balanced sheet with good weather, oil and abrasion resistance for industrial use. The wording covers more than one condition, so tell us if your job has a mix.
For example, a sheet may sit partly outdoors and also meet oil from a machine. Or it may rub against a moving part as well as get wet. Tell us the mix, and we will tell you if neoprene fits.
Neoprene is not a promise for every case, and nitrile is not either. If one condition is much worse than the others, say so. We will then check the grade against that condition first.
What decides the grade
You can usually settle the grade with four facts. Write them down before you call us.
- The fluid: oil, fuel, water, cleaning chemicals or something else
- The place: indoors in a workshop, outdoors, or both
- The wear: whether the sheet is sat on, rubbed, dragged over or left alone
- The use: a gasket, a pad, a lining or a cover
If a chemical other than oil is involved, tell us its name and we will confirm the grade.
Write the answers in one short message. A buyer who sends these four facts at the start saves a round of questions, and the order is less likely to come back wrong. If several jobs need rubber sheet, list each job on its own line, with its own facts.

Size and thickness
A sheet order needs sizes as well as a grade. Measure the part the sheet will fit, or the area it must cover.
Tell us the length, the width and the thickness you need, with units. Say how many sheets or pieces you want. If you need a special size, tell us and we will check what we can offer.
Thickness matters for gaskets and pads, so tell us the thickness you need. If you are not sure, send a photo of the place and tell us what the sheet must do.
