Rubber Sheets

This guide is for maintenance managers, workshop supervisors and buyers who order rubber sheet. Ordering the wrong grade can mean early replacement and a second order. A clear inquiry helps us confirm the right grade the first time.

Tell us what the sheet must do

Start with the job. Our catalogue lists rubber sheet for flooring, lining, sealing and protection. So tell us which of these you need, or what else the sheet will do.

Tell us:

  • Whether it is a gasket, a pad, a lining or a floor cover.
  • Where it will be fitted.
  • Whether people will walk on it.

If you have a specification or a sample, give us the material name exactly as written. Say if an equivalent is acceptable. If one property matters most, such as oil resistance or heat, mark it clearly. A photo or a drawing helps us see the shape and the fitting.

List the size and the quantity

Be clear about what you are ordering. Use millimetres for thickness. Give width and length in millimetres or metres, and never mix the two.

Tell us:

  • The thickness.
  • The width and the length.
  • How many sheets, rolls or cut parts you need.

For a cut gasket or a shaped part, send a drawing with its revision number. Mark the tolerances that matter. A flange gasket may need tight control of size, while a protective pad may not.

If you need backing or a special finish, tell us and we will say what we can offer. If you need a special size, tell us that too.

Our catalogue also lists gaskets and rubber seals. Ask us if a cut gasket fits your job better than a loose sheet.

Describe what the sheet will touch

This is often the most important detail. The fluids and the heat decide the grade, so describe both.

Tell us:

  • Which fluids touch the sheet: water, coolant, fuel, hydraulic oil or cleaning chemicals.
  • The strength of each chemical, if you know it.
  • The temperature range in service.
  • Whether contact is occasional splashing or constant immersion.
  • Whether the sheet sits indoors or outdoors.

"Water and a cleaning chemical at the wash bay" tells us much more than "black rubber". For a seal, also tell us the joint design and whether the parts move. A static seal and a moving seal are different jobs.

Know the grades we list

Our catalogue describes each rubber grade in one line. Use these as a starting point, then tell us your conditions so we can confirm the right one:

  • NR / SBR rubber sheet: general-purpose natural and synthetic rubber for mats, pads, lining and protection.
  • EPDM rubber sheet: weather-resistant sheet for outdoor sealing, waterproofing and insulation work.
  • Nitrile rubber sheet: oil-resistant NBR sheet for workshops, gaskets, pads and fuel-related environments.
  • Viton rubber sheet: for chemical, heat and oil-resistant industrial applications.
  • Neoprene rubber sheet: good weather, oil and abrasion resistance for industrial use.

A grade name is a starting point, not a promise for your exact fluid or temperature. When a job is critical, send us the details and ask us to confirm the grade in writing.

Keep your specification

Once an order works well, keep the grade name, the sizes and any drawing revision together. When you reorder, send us the same details. Then it is easy to check that a new quotation matches the old one.

If you need product documents, ask us when you send the inquiry.

What to send us for a quote

  • The grade, if you know it, or the fluids and the temperature it will face.
  • Thickness, width and length in millimetres.
  • The quantity, and whether you need sheets, rolls or cut shapes.
  • A drawing or photo of the shape and the fitting.
  • Any backing or special finish you need.
  • Any special size you need.
