Segmental saw blades: what our catalogue says

What our catalogue says about the KINS' YELLOW segmental blade, where it differs from the TCT lines, and what to tell us for large or heavy sections.

Stacks of steel beams with yellow painted ends in an industrial yard

This guide is for workshop and yard managers who cut large or heavy sections and wonder if a segmental blade is the right tool. Our catalogue has one segmental blade, KINS' YELLOW. Here is what the catalogue says about it, and what we need from you before we advise.

What "segmental" means in our catalogue

A segmental blade is not one piece of toothed steel. The catalogue describes KINS' YELLOW as a chrome vanadium steel body with HSS high-speed tempered steel toothed segments riveted to the edge of the blade.

The catalogue says this design allows straightforward repairs. If a tooth or a segment is damaged, you can replace the individual segment instead of the whole blade.

What the ratings show

The line page has one blade and a set of rating rows. These are the ones that matter for a first check:

  • Low Tensile: 10.
  • Medium Tensile: 7.
  • Non-Ferro: 10.
  • Cutting Speed: 2.
  • Repairable: 10.

Read the scores as the catalogue's own scale for this blade, shown beside the other lines. A score of 2 for cutting speed is low on the page's scale. If speed matters to your output, say so when you ask us.

The page rates the blade for low and medium tensile material. It shows no high tensile rating. If your section is high tensile, ask us before you order.

What the catalogue does not say

Our catalogue does not give a maximum section size, wall thickness or diameter for KINS' YELLOW. It does not say the blade is made for beams or large profiles. So we do not promise it for large sections from the page alone.

This is why we ask you to tell us the section before we advise. Give the size, the shape and the steel grade. Then we can confirm if KINS' YELLOW is the line to look at, or if another line fits better.

Do not pick the blade only because the section is big. Size alone does not tell us the blade, the machine or the grade.

How it compares with a TCT line

Our TCT lines are listed by job: flying cut-off, stationary tube and solid stationary. KINS' RED is the TCT line for solid steel bars and other dense metals. It comes in LF, MT, LT Performance, MT Performance and HT versions, plus stainless ones.

KINS' YELLOW is listed in a different way, by its design: a body with replaceable segments. So the choice is not only about section size. Decide on these points:

  • Whether you want a blade you can repair by replacing segments.
  • Whether your steel grade matches what the page rates.
  • Whether cutting speed is a priority on this saw.

Tell us your answers and we will point you to the right line. For comparison, see how KINS' RED is listed.

When to ask us about KINS' YELLOW

Contact us before you order in these cases:

  • Your sections are large, thick or heavy, and you want to know if a segmental blade is an option.
  • You cut non-ferrous material. The page rates this blade for it, so tell us the material.
  • You want a blade that you can repair, and you want to know how that works on your saw.
  • Your steel is high tensile or stainless. The page shows no rating for these on KINS' YELLOW.

We will check the blade against your machine. The size and specification of a blade depend on the machine, the cutting task and the material. You can also browse our saw blade range to see the other lines.

What to send us for a quote

  • The machine make and model, and the blade size it takes.
  • What you cut, with the section shape, size and wall thickness.
  • The material and, for steel, whether it is low, medium or high tensile.
  • The old blade's code, or its diameter, bore, thickness and fixing holes, with photos.
  • What is wrong with the current blade, and what you want to improve.
  • How many blades you need.

Request a quote on our website or message us on WhatsApp, and we will confirm the right line for your section.
