Rolls of fabric lying on steel racks inside a factory store

This guide is for production managers, store supervisors and buyers in textile and garment factories. It covers casters for fabric trolleys, cut-piece carts and garment racks. A wrong order means a trolley out of use.

Know what each trolley carries

List every trolley type on the floor: fabric roll carts, cutting-room carts, sewing-line bins and garment rails. List fabric roll carts and cut-piece carts separately. Tell us whether the rolls lie loose on the trolley or sit on a shaft.

Weigh the trolley when it is full, not when it is empty. Add the frame, the fabric or garments, and any boxes or tools on top. Do this for the heaviest load the trolley will ever carry.

Then divide the total by the number of casters. Leave a margin, because one caster can carry more than its share on an uneven floor. Do not choose from the top of a load range. Tell us if trolleys are pushed hard or pulled in a line, so we can discuss the margin.

Our medium duty series

Our medium duty series is the HOD 51 and 52 range. The catalogue rates the single ball bearing series from 30 to 160 kg and the double ball bearing series from 35 to 170 kg. It is listed as swivel and rigid top plate casters, swivel threaded stem casters and swivel bolt hole casters, with brake options.

Tell us the loaded weight of your heaviest trolley and the number of casters, and we will confirm which series to quote.

Our medium / heavy duty series and universal trolleys

The HOD 62 series is our medium / heavy duty range, rated from 80 to 330 kg. It has double bearing wheels and seven wheel options: PP, two PU, PA, two ER and TPR. Each wheel option has its own load range, so check the line for the wheel you want. It lists the same mounting types as the medium duty series.

Our catalogue also lists universal trolleys at 150 to 200 kg, in seven models: TC-300W, TC-150, TC-300, TC-150S2, TC-300S2, TC-150S3 and TC-300S3. Tell us what you carry and the size of the trolley, and we will confirm which model to look at.

Rigid, swivel and brake

A four-caster trolley can have two swivel casters and two rigid ones, or four swivel casters. Rigid casters help a trolley run straight down a long aisle. Swivel casters help it turn between machines and tables.

In our catalogue the brake versions are swivel casters. Rigid casters are listed without a lock. A brake on at least two casters keeps a trolley from rolling while staff load or cut. Tell us how many casters you want braked.

Our caster finder filters by mounting, wheel material, brake and load. Use it to see which models match your old caster.

Check the fitting and the wheel

Look at how the old caster is fixed to the trolley, and measure the height from the floor to the mounting. The catalogue words are top plate, threaded stem and bolt hole. If your trolley has another fitting, tell us.

Keep one old caster, or take clear photos of it. Measure the plate size and the hole spacing. Our guide to replacement caster measurements shows what to measure and photograph. Send the photos with your list of trolley types, so we can match each one.

Wheel material is a choice you make with us. The catalogue lists each wheel option in each series, and the load range follows the wheel. Tell us the floor type and how the trolley is used. We will confirm the options to look at.

When one caster fails, send us the codes from the old set, so we can quote the whole trolley with one code.

What to send us for a quote

  • What the trolley is, and what it carries.
  • The loaded weight of the heaviest trolley, and the number of casters.
  • Rigid, swivel or brake, and how many of each.
  • The mounting type, with a photo and measurements of the old caster.
  • The old caster's code, if you can read it.
  • The floor type in the work area.
  • The quantity you need.

Request a quote on our website or message us on WhatsApp, and we will confirm the right series for your trolleys.
