Kinkelder KINS’ ORANGE

This guide is for production managers and maintenance teams who run a tube mill and have to choose between the KINS' ORANGE blade versions. It puts the six versions in one list with the catalogue ratings. It then shows how to narrow the list and what to tell us so we can confirm the right one.

What the ORANGE line is

KINS' ORANGE is our Kinkelder line of TCT (tungsten carbide tipped) circular saw blades for flying cut-off. The catalogue describes flying cut-off on tube mills as cutting pipes or profiles without stopping or slowing the production line. It names hollow sections, square tubes and rectangular tubes.

The catalogue lists stationary cutting under other lines. If your machine is not a flying cut-off, we come back to that below.

The six versions and their ratings

The catalogue gives each blade a short list of rated rows, scored up to 10. The rows are not the same on every blade, so read each blade on its own line:

  • SpeedMaster Performance: Carbon steel 10, Stainless steel 4, Scarf 7, Blade life 10, Tube 8, Thin tube/profile 10.
  • SpeedMaster: Carbon Steel 10, Stainless Steel 4, Scarf 8, Blade Life 10, Tube 9, Thin tube/profile 7.
  • ScarfMaster LMT: Low/Med. Tensile 10, High Tensile 6, Scarf 10, Blade Life 10.
  • ScarfMaster HT: Low/Med. Tensile 6, High Tensile 10, Scarf 10, Blade Life 10.
  • OrbitalMaster Pro: Carbon Steel 10, Stainless Steel 4, Scarf 8, Blade Life 10, Profile 10, Tube 10.
  • OrbitalMaster Stainless: Carbon Steel 4, Stainless Steel 10, Scarf 6, Blade Life 8.

The catalogue does not explain what Speed, Scarf or Orbital stand for, and we do not guess here. Treat them as version names. Ask us if you want to know how the versions differ in use.

Narrow the list with your material

Start with what you cut, because the rows change with the material.

If you cut carbon steel, the SpeedMaster pair and OrbitalMaster Pro all score 10 on Carbon steel. If you cut stainless, OrbitalMaster Stainless is the only version that scores 10 on Stainless Steel.

If your steel grade is the question, look at the two ScarfMaster versions. They differ on the tensile rows: LMT scores 10 on Low/Med. Tensile and HT scores 10 on High Tensile. Check the tensile strength of your steel before you pick one.

Note one limit. Only some blades have Tube or Profile rows. SpeedMaster, SpeedMaster Performance and OrbitalMaster Pro do. The ScarfMaster versions and OrbitalMaster Stainless do not, so you cannot compare them with those rows.

Then check the shape of what you cut

The catalogue rates the SpeedMaster blades on Tube and Thin tube/profile, and OrbitalMaster Pro on Profile and Tube. If you run thin tube or profile, compare those rows for the blades that match your material.

A score is a way to compare blades on the same page. It does not tell you how many cuts a blade will make on your mill. Tell us the tube size, the wall and the line speed, and we will confirm the version.

If you already run an ORANGE blade, send us its code and tell us how it performs now. Your current blade code helps us check the match.

When the machine is stationary

KINS' BLUE is the Kinkelder line for stationary and semi-automatic tube cutting. The catalogue lists it for cutting tubes, pipes or profiles on those machines. If your cutting is not flying cut-off, tell us and we will confirm the line. Our guide to saw blades for semi-automatic tube machines covers that case, and the KINS' BLUE page has the line itself.

Tell us which kind of machine you have, and we will point you to the right line before the version.

What to send us for a quote

  • Whether the cut is flying cut-off on a tube mill, or a stationary or semi-automatic machine.
  • The tube or profile shape, its size and its wall thickness.
  • The material name and, if you know it, the steel grade and tensile strength. Say if it is stainless.
  • The tube mill make and model, and the blade size it takes.
  • The line speed you run.
  • The old blade code, or its diameter, bore, thickness and fixing holes, with photos.
  • What goes wrong with the current blade, if anything.
  • The quantity you need.

Browse the saw blade range, then request a quote on our website or message us on WhatsApp. We will confirm the right blade for your mill.
