Kinkelder KINS’ BLUE

This guide is for workshop supervisors and buyers who cut tube, pipe or profile on a stationary or semi-automatic cutter. You may need to reorder a blade or change to another. Here is what our Kinkelder catalogue says about each line, and what to send us so we can confirm the right blade.

Start with your machine, not the blade name

Our catalogue says the KINS' BLUE series is designed for cutting tubes, pipes or profiles on stationary and semi-automatic machines. It also says the size and specifications of the blade depend on the machine, the cutting task and the material.

So the machine comes first. Two cutters that look alike can need different blades. We do not list machine brands in this guide, and we do not give blade sizes. Send us the machine details and the old blade, and we will confirm.

For other machine types, the catalogue sorts blades into other lines. KINS' ORANGE is the flying cut-off line, and KINS' RED is the solid stationary line. Tell us what your machine does and we will point you to the right line.

What the KINS' BLUE line lists

The BLUE line has four blades in our catalogue. Each one carries ratings on the page. The catalogue gives no written definition of the scores, so read them only as a way to compare blades inside the same line.

  • Stabilizer Performance: Low/medium tensile 9, High tensile 8, Cut surface 9, High output 9, Low power 9.
  • Performance: High tensile 9, Flexibility 9, Cut surface 9, Low power 9.
  • Multi Performance: Low/medium tensile 10, Multi/thick tube 9, High output 9.
  • Stainless: Stainless Steel 9 and Blade Life 9, with Low/Med. Tensile 4 and High Tensile 4.

The first three share the same row names. The Stainless blade is rated on a shorter list, so you cannot compare it row by row with the others.

Match the rows to your work

Pick the rows that name your job, then see how each blade scores on them. The Multi/thick tube row and the Thin tube row are separate, so tell us which kind of tube you cut. Our guides to thick-wall tubes and thin-wall steel tubes go through each row, and our low-power tube machine guide covers the Low power row.

Write down the material grade too. The rows split into low, medium and high tensile, and a Stainless Steel row. If you do not know the tensile range of your tube, tell us the grade, or the name your tube maker gives it.

Do not choose from one row alone. A blade that scores 10 on one row can score 4 on another. Make a shortlist of two blades, then send it to us with your machine details.

The HSS option

Our catalogue also lists KINS' GREEN, a high-speed steel (HSS) line. The page says it is typically used for low-tensile and sub-range medium-tensile applications, with lower cutting speeds and wall thicknesses. It has six versions: Performance, Stainless Performance, Stainless Stabilizer, Stabilizer, Universal and Vapor.

The GREEN page does not name stationary or semi-automatic machines, so we do not claim a match for your cutter. Tell us the machine and the tube, and we will confirm whether GREEN or BLUE is the line to quote.

HSS and TCT blades are listed in separate lines, with their own ratings. Tell us before you change.

Reorder with the old blade in hand

Keep the old blade until the new one is confirmed, and send photos of both faces and the edge. Our saw blade enquiry checklist lists everything we need, and the KINS' BLUE page shows the four blades and their ratings.

What to send us for a quote

  • The machine type and model, and whether it is stationary or semi-automatic.
  • What you cut: tube, pipe or profile, and its dimensions.
  • The material and grade, including whether it is stainless steel.
  • The size marked on the old blade, or photos of it.
  • What you want to improve: blade life, cut surface or output.
  • How many blades you need.
  • Any problem with the current blade, with photos.

Request a quote on our website or message us on WhatsApp, and we will confirm the right blade for your machine.
