Rubber Sheets

This guide is for maintenance managers, workshop owners and buyers who want rubber sheet for pads under a machine or other equipment. We will say plainly what our catalogue lists and what it does not. Then we show what to send us, so we can confirm what we can offer.

What we list, and what we do not

We list rubber sheet on our industrial materials page. We do not list anti-vibration mounts. We say so now so you do not lose time.

Our catalogue mentions vibration in one place: the rubber seals listing, as one of the things a flexible seal is designed to help prevent. No rubber sheet listing makes a claim about vibration.

That means we cannot give you a vibration reduction figure, a hardness or a load per pad. Those figures are not in our catalogue. For them, ask the machine maker or an engineer.

Sheets buyers ask about for pads

Our catalogue words for three sheets are below. We quote them exactly so you can compare.

  • NR / SBR: general-purpose natural and synthetic rubber sheet for mats, pads, lining and protection.
  • Rubber Sheets: durable industrial rubber sheets for flooring, lining, sealing and protection applications.
  • Neoprene: balanced rubber sheet with good weather, oil and abrasion resistance for industrial use.

The word pad appears in the NR / SBR and nitrile listings. That describes the sheet's uses in our catalogue. It does not say the sheet isolates vibration.

Tell us the size and thickness you want to try, and we will check what we can offer. Ask the machine maker what thickness the machine needs. For more on NR / SBR, see our NR / SBR sheet guide.

Before you cut a pad

Read the machine maker's instructions first. Many machines say how they must be set or fixed to the floor, so check with the maker before you put anything under the machine. Follow your site's rules for working on machines.

Then decide what the pad is for. Different jobs call for different answers.

  • Protect the floor from marks or from a dragged machine.
  • Stop a machine sliding on a smooth floor.
  • Reduce noise where a machine touches a hard surface.
  • Raise the machine slightly off the floor.

Tell us which of these you mean. We do not claim a pad does any of them. Tell us the job and we will confirm what we can offer.

If the machine is heavy, say so early. A heavy machine and a light one are different requests. We would rather ask before you cut anything.

Weight and footprint

The pad has to suit the machine, so we need the numbers. Take the full weight of the machine, with its fluids and tooling. Divide the weight by the number of feet or mounting points.

Write both numbers down before you contact us. Measure the footprint of each foot, in millimetres. Note whether the machine is bolted down, and where the bolts pass.

Also tell us how the machine runs. A press, a pump, a compressor and a bench saw are not the same. Say if it runs all day or in short cycles.

Oil, coolant and the floor

Workshop floors are often wet with oil, coolant or water. Tell us what reaches the pad, and which cleaning chemicals you use. We will confirm which sheet to quote.

Tell us the floor too: concrete, steel deck, tile or epoxy. The floor and the machine base both matter when we check what to quote. If the machine sits outdoors or in strong sunlight, say so.

For a cut piece, give us the finished size. A photo of the machine base with a ruler beside a foot helps.

What to send us for a quote

  • The machine type and its full weight.
  • The number of feet or mounting points, and the footprint of each, in millimetres.
  • What the pad is for: floor protection, grip, noise or levelling.
  • How the machine runs, and whether it is bolted down.
  • The floor type, and any oil, coolant, water or chemicals.
  • Pad size, the thickness you want to try, and the quantity.
  • A photo of the machine base.

Request a quote on our website or message us on WhatsApp, and we will confirm what we can offer for your machine.
