Kinkelder KINS’ YELLOW

This guide is for workshop owners and buyers who cut solid bar in aluminium, copper or brass on a circular saw. Most Kinkelder blade ratings are written for steel. Here is what our catalogue says about non-ferrous metal, and what to send us so we can confirm a blade.

What the catalogue says about non-ferrous cutting

Our catalogue has five Kinkelder lines. Only one of them has a Non-Ferro rating: KINS' YELLOW, the segmental blade. It scores 10 on that row.

The catalogue does not name aluminium, copper or brass anywhere. It says Non-Ferro, and nothing more. So we cannot tell you from the catalogue which of the three metals the rating covers, or which bar sizes.

For the other four lines, the ratings are about steel and stainless steel, tube and blade life. We do not claim that any of them fits non-ferrous bar. If you want to use one, tell us the metal and the bar and we will confirm. Because the catalogue is silent on the three metals, the alloy name and a photo of your bar matter more than usual. They are what we check your case against, so send them with your first message. A short reply from us then says plainly what we can confirm and what we cannot.

The segmental blade that carries the rating

KINS' YELLOW has a Non-Ferro score of 10 and a Cutting Speed score of 2. Its tensile rows, Low Tensile 10 and Medium Tensile 7, are written for steel, so only the Non-Ferro row speaks about other metals. The catalogue does not explain the scale, so ask us what the Cutting Speed score means for your machine and your output. The full description and every row are in our guide to segmental blades.

Where the HSS line fits, and where it does not

Our catalogue also lists KINS' GREEN, an HSS line. It describes the blades as typically used for low-tensile and sub-range medium-tensile applications. It gives no Non-Ferro rating, and it names no aluminium, copper or brass.

So we do not list GREEN as a blade for non-ferrous bar. If you already run a GREEN blade on steel and want to try it on a soft metal, tell us. We will confirm the line before you change.

What affects a blade choice on bar

Blade size and specification depend on your machine, the task and the material, so we confirm each job on its facts. For solid bar, collect these details before you write to us.

  • The metal and its grade or alloy name. Aluminium, copper and brass each come in many grades.
  • The bar shape and size: round, square or flat, with the diameter or width.
  • The machine, and whether it is stationary or semi-automatic.
  • How many cuts you make in a shift, and how long the blade must last.
  • What is wrong with your present blade, if you have one.

Tell us how the cut looks and how the blade wears. Photos of the cut face and the blade edge help us see what is happening. Keep the old blade until the new one is confirmed, because its size and markings are the quickest way for us to match your saw. If you have a blade that already works well on one metal, tell us which one and why you want to change.

If you do not know the exact alloy, that is fine. Send us the drawing, the name on the bar label if there is one, or a photo of the bar ends. If you cut several metals on one machine, say so. A blade chosen for one metal may not be right for the others.

Our saw blades page lists every line, and the KINS' YELLOW page shows its ratings in full.

What to send us for a quote

  • The metal or alloy: aluminium, copper, brass or another.
  • The bar shape, diameter or width, and length.
  • The machine type and model.
  • The old blade, or photos of both faces and the edge.
  • The size marked on the old blade, if you can read it.
  • How the cut looks now, and what you want to improve.
  • How many blades you need.

Request a quote on our website or message us on WhatsApp, and we will confirm the right blade for your material.
