This guide is for maintenance managers and buyers who know the job but not the material. Here is how to go from the job to the catalogue entry you should ask about. We do not rank materials, and we confirm the right one when you tell us the conditions.
Job one: seal a gap
You have two parts or a door, cover or flange, and something must stay in or stay out. Our catalogue lists three entries for this kind of work:
- Rubber seals: flexible sealing solutions designed to help prevent leakage, vibration, dust and moisture entry.
- Gaskets: custom gasket materials for flange sealing, machinery, piping and industrial maintenance.
- Rubber sheets: sheet for flooring, lining, sealing and protection.
A seal and a gasket are different requests. Our guide to seals against gaskets explains the difference.
Send us a photo of the gap or the old part, what the seal must keep in or out, and what it touches.
Job two: slide a part
A part moves against another one, and you want it to run smoothly or to last. Two entries in our catalogue are listed for rollers, wear parts and guide parts:
- Nylon rod and sheet: strong engineering plastic profiles suitable for machining, rollers, spacers and wear parts.
- Teflon (PTFE) rod and sheet: low-friction PTFE material for chemical resistance, insulation, guide parts and machine components.
Both are listed as rod and as sheet. The catalogue does not compare them. For that choice, read nylon or PTFE: which to use.
Send us the part name, what it slides against, any chemicals it meets, and the old part or a drawing.
Job three: protect a surface from wear or knocks
A roller, a metal part or a work surface is wearing out, slipping or taking hits. You can ask us about two kinds of entry here.
- PU coating: polyurethane coating support for wear protection, grip, impact resistance and surface durability.
- Rubber coating: protective rubber coating for rollers, metal parts, lining, insulation and anti-slip applications.
Both are coating services in our catalogue. Rubber sheet is also listed for protection, so tell us if you are thinking of sheet instead of a coating. Our guide to PU and rubber coating for rollers and parts covers the coating side.
Send us a photo of the damage, the part sizes, and what hits or rubs the surface.
Job four: line a surface
You want a layer inside a tank, on a floor, on a chute or on a metal part. Our catalogue lists lining under rubber sheets, NR / SBR sheet and rubber coating.
For floors and linings from sheet, read rubber sheets for industrial flooring and lining. For coating a metal part, read rubber coating for metal parts and lining.
Send us the area to be lined, its shape, and what will touch the lining: product, water, oil, chemicals, heat or foot traffic.
When the job is two of these
Some jobs overlap. A roller can need grip and wear protection. A guide part can slide and sit in a chemical area. Do not force the job into one box. Describe all of it, and we will confirm which entry to quote, or whether the job needs two. Say what happens first, such as wear on the surface, then what you want to fix. A short note on the order helps us read the job the way you see it on site.
If a name on your drawing sounds like a different material, check our rubber and plastic terms guide.
What to send us for a quote
- The job in your own words: seal, slide, protect or line.
- The part or surface, with a photo, a drawing or the old part.
- What it touches: oil, fuel, chemicals, heat, weather, wear or cleaning.
- The material name from your drawing, if there is one.
- The size, shape and quantity you need.
- Whether you need product documents.
Request a quote on our industrial materials page or message us on WhatsApp, and we will confirm the entry that fits your job.
